Investigation continues after body found on M5

Police are continuing an investigation after a body was found on the M5 yesterday, 13th February.

Emergency services were called to reports that a body had been hit by a number of vehicles between junctions 28 and 29 southbound at around 6.40am

The identity of the deceased man has yet to be confirmed.

Police closed the road for around eight hours whilst a thorough examination was carried out and enquiries are continuing to determine the identity of the deceased and the reason for the body being on the motorway.

Weather at the time of this incident was poor with heavy rain and it was the hours of darkness.

Anyone who witnessed the incident or may have information is asked to contact police via 101@dc.police.uk or by calling 101 quoting log number 119 of 13/02/18.
