Landlords – you can make a difference to someone’s life!

With the pandemic ongoing a number of families across the Bay are finding themselves in the very difficult situation of losing their homes.

Landlords with empty properties can really make a difference to someone and their family who need a place to live.

This is why Torbay Council Housing Options Team are asking Landlords who have any flats or houses currently stood empty to give them a call.

Landlords who have already helped house someone say the Housing Options team work tirelessly to ensure that new tenancies start smoothly. They also said they feel very supported as they are regularly contacted to check that everything is going ok.

Councillor Christine Carter, Cabinet Member for Community and Corporate Services said: “I really do encourage any landlords who have an empty property to get in contact with the Housing Options Team. You really will be helping out a family or someone who desperately need a roof over their heads. There are so many people experiencing financial pressures at the moment following the pandemic and with your support you will really be helping these people get their lives back on track.”

To let the team know about what property or properties you have available email Lisa.furse@torbay.gov.uk or call 01803 208747 or 07909937582.
