Newton Abbot MP Ann Marie Morris was among the community-conscious customers who gave generously at a food collection for Teignbridge people in crisis this Christmas.
Ms Morris joined shoppers and volunteers at the Newton Abbot Tesco Superstore to contribute long-life items that will go to local foodbanks in the run-up to the festive holiday.
Janette Parker, Community Champion at the Superstore, said: “At this time of year foodbanks are under enormous pressure to help feed local families and, with the cost-of-living crisis hitting many people hard, donations generally have declined. But our customers have again showed how caring they are and have generously supported by donating food.”
Among others who lent a helping handing during the store’s food collection were Suzi and her son Sol, who was working towards his Civic Award at school.
