M5 remains closed following serious collision

The M5 remains closed following a serious collision near junction 29 Southbound this morning, Monday 14th January.

Emergency services were called to the collision between a car and a lorry at 5.50am

Emergency services are still at the scene.

The M5 southbound remains closed between junction 28 and 29.

#Devon M5 southbound between Cullompton and Exeter closed due to accident investigations. Diversions are in place but queues back to the Tiverton turn off on the M5. Traffic on the A396 in Tiverton and Bickleigh very congested & Broadclyst on the B3181 there are delays.[SG]

A woman in her 20s has been taken to Derriford hospital by air ambulance with serious injuries.

Three other people have been taken to RD&E hospital by land ambulance. Their injuries are unknown at this time.

Anyone with information and anyone who witnessed the incident is asked to contact police on 101 quoting log 82 14/1/19.
