Machete man arrested in Torquay after helicopter search

Update: A man was taken to hospital with head inuries following an incident on Abbey Road at around 10pm.

A man armed with a machete was arrested in Torquay late last night.

The police helicopter helped in the search for the man and could be heard hovering over Torquay just before 11pm.

The man was found and arrested.

There are no futher details at present but it has been suggested on social media that there was an incident on Abbey Road prior to the arrest.
