A major search was launched in Torquay last night, 8th December after a man was seen holding a gun on CCTV.

It has not yet been confirmed where the incident took place but locals state Union Street in the town centre was closed with large police presence.

Sgt Harry Tangye Said on twitter this morning:

“Quite a busy cold damp night shift… including searching for a lone man seen holding a gun by CCTV in Torbay. Area search by several ARV’s and response officers. No sign. Log 65,”

NPAS (National Police Air Service) Exeter posted on twitter:

“2355 hrs – immediate deployment to Torquay to provide operational support and live downlink video to @DC_Police and @DC_ARVSgt. Enquiries ongoing.”
