A man has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder after two police officers sustained stab wounds in an incident this morning, Friday 9 July.
Police were called to reports of an assault at an address in Burrator Avenue, Princetown last night just before midnight.
Police say the suspect left the scene but later, at 3am, encountered two police officers, who both sustained stab and laceration wounds. Both were taken to hospital, one has since been discharged and the other is receiving treatment to his face and arms.
A 60-year-old man has been arrested and remains in police custody.
A police cordon remains in the area and the investigation continues.
