Person dies after being hit by a train near Dawlish

A man has been arrested following the death of a teenage girl at the weekend.

Jacob Khanlarian, aged 20, from Newton Abbot, has been charged with two counts of supply of a controlled drug of class A (MDMA) and one count of supply a controlled drug of Class B (cannabis). He has been remanded in custody and will appear before Plymouth Magistrates this morning, Monday 17 July.

Police in Devon are continuing to investigate the circumstances surrounding the death of a 15-year-old girl in Newton Abbot on Saturday 15 July.

The 15 year old has been named locally as Leah Kerry. Two other girls who were believed to have taken the same substance were taken to hospital as a precaution. Both have since been released.

Police cordoned off Bakers Park whilst the investigated.
