A man has been arrested following a firearms incident in Torquay town centre last night, Friday 8th June.
Police were called to Fleet Street at 8.49pm.last night to reports of a man in possession of a handgun.
A spokesperson person for Devon and Cornwall Police said: “As Police were making towards the area, information was received via CCTV operators that the male was being challenged by the security guard from a local supermarket.
“Police arrived within moments and the male was arrested for possession of an imitation firearm with intent to cause fear of violence. Two imitation firearms were recovered at the scene and the male is currently in custody assisting with police enquiries,”
