Man arrested following suspicious activity in Decoy area

A man was arrested this afternoon, 6th February following reports of a man acting suspiciously in Newton Abbot.

Police had increased patrols around the Decoy area last week following reports of a man acting suspiciously and a number of posts on social media by people claiming they’d been followed.

Newton Abbot police said on Facebook today:
“This afternoon a male was stopped by police and subsequently has been arrested in connection with these reports. Police would like to thank members of the public for there vigilance on this matter. The local neighbourhood team will continue to monitor the area.

“If you see anyone acting suspiciously in the area please don’t hesitate to contact us via 101 or emailing 101@dcpolice.uk. For all emergencies call 999,”
