Man arrested on suspicion of attempted murder following stabbing

Man in hospital following Torquay stabbing 

Police have launched an investigation following a stabbing in Exeter last night, Sunday 15th January.

Police were called to reports of a stabbing in Leighton Terrace last night at around 9.50pm.

A 30 year old man, who had several stab wounds was taken to hospital. His injuries are not believed to be life threatening.

A 46-year-old man from Exeter has been arrested on suspicion of attempt murder and is currently in police custody.

The police helicopter assisted in the search for the suspect who was found in woods.

A scene guard currently remains at Howell Road.

Police have stated that this was an “isolated domestic incident and contrary to rumours on social media, this did not involve an escaped prisoner,”
