A man from Paignton has been charged in connection with a hit and run in Torquay.
Four pedestrians, all aged 18 were injured. Two of the group were seriously injured and taken to Derriford Hospital following the incident which happened Friday 4th October last year on Lymington Road.
Tyrone Shellam, 28, from Paignton, has been charged with causing serious injury by dangerous driving, he has been remanded in custody to appear before Exeter Crown Court on Thursday 26 March.
Police Sergeant Richard Newton of the Serious Collision Investigation Unit, said: “The male had been previously arrested and released under investigation while extensive enquiries took place to recover CCTV, mobile telephone and forensic evidence which led to him being re-arrested on Tuesday 25 February.
“Devon and Cornwall Police Roads Policing Unit take incidents such as this very seriously and will make every effort to bring those responsible to justice.”
