Man charged with murder following death of woman in Plymouth

A man has been charged with murder following the death of a woman in Plymouth at the weekend.

Emergency services were called to reports of concern for the welfare of a woman at a property in Ilbert Street at around 4.15pm on Saturday 29 July.

Police forced entry to the address and emergency first aid was carried out, but 53-year-old Hazel Huggins was confirmed deceased at the scene.

A man, who is believed to be known to the victim has been charged with murder. Bradley Huggins, 24, of Ilbert Street, Plymouth is due to appear before Plymouth Magistrates’ Court today, Monday 31 July.

Hazel’s family have paid tribute to her saying: “Hazel was a bright shining light and loved by many. The family are grieving their loss and ask that their privacy be respected at this time.”
