A man has died after a car entered the water in Dartmouth yesterday, Sunday 10 November.
Emergency services were called to the scene, opposite the lifeboat centre at around 8.40am.
Police, police dive teams, ambulance crews, air ambulance, RNLI, Coastguard crews, Coastguard helicopter and fire crews attended the scene.
Police have confirmed a man in his 80s was pronounced dead at the scene with police divers recovering his body and the vehicle from the river.
Police said a file has been passed to the coroner and the death is not believed to be suspicious.
The embankment area was closed, with cordons put in place for much of the day. They were later lifted.
Police have thanked the public for their support during the incident.
