Emergency services attended a fatal collision on the A30 westbound near Ottery St Mary this morning.
A car collided with the central reservation at around 7.30am near Daisymount.
The male driver a local man aged in his early forties, suffered serious injuries, and was taken by ambulance to the Royal Devon and Exeter Hospital where he was pronounced deceased.
His next of kin have been informed.
Highways assisted with road closures at the Daisymount and the Exeter airport junction, which were in place until around 11am.
