A man has died following a hit and run in Torquay today, Sunday 1 May.
Emergency services were alerted to reports of a collision between a pedestrian and a car on Barton Hill Road just after midnight.
The pedestrian, a man in his 40s, received life-threatening injuries as a result and died in hospital shortly after. His next of kin have been notified and are receiving support from specially trained officers.
The vehicle involved had left the scene which has since been identified. Officers are currently carrying out enquiries to locate the driver.
