Police confirm man died in Market Street Collision

Market Street closed following serious collision

Police have confirmed that a man died in a collision in Market Street, Torquay yesterday (18th July).

The three vehicle collision happened at around 12.30pm.

A man in his late 60’s, thought to be local, was seriously injured and was declared deceased at the scene. Formal ID has not yet been carried out and his next of kin has been informed.

One other man was taken to hospital by ambulance. His injuries are not thought to be life threatening or life changing.

Police, ambulance and fire crews attended the scene.

The road remained closed until the evening whilst investigations took place.

Police are asking for anyone who witnessed the collision is asked to call police on 101 quoting reference 356 of 18/07/16
