A man remains in a critical condition following a stabbing incident in Brixham yesterday, Friday 14th June.
Emergency services were called to The Quay at around 7pm to reports of a serious assault.
Police, including armed police, ambulance crews and the air ambulance attended the incident near the Sprat & Mackerel pub.
The victim, a man, in his 40s, sustained a serious knife wound, described as life-threatening, he remains in Derriford hospital in a critical condition.
Two people, a 48-year-old man and a 34-year-old woman from Brixham have since been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder and remain in police custody at this time.
The suspects and victim were known to each other.
Detective Chief Inspector Ian Reid, said: “Earlier this morning officers in Torquay arrested two people in connection to this matter and they remain in police custody, to be questioned in due course. A vehicle has also been seized by officers.
“At this time, this is being treated as an isolated incident where all parties are believed to be known to each other. We are not looking for anyone else in connection with this matter.
“I’d encourage anyone with relevant information and anyone who was near The Quay in Brixham on Friday evening, to get in touch with police.
