Police have appealed for witnesses following a fatal collision near Totnes on Friday.
One passenger, a man in his 30s died, another passenger, a man in his 20s, sustained suspected life-changing injuries.
Emergency services were called to the single vehicle collision on A3122 Halwell Cross, which involved a black Seat Leon, at around 9.30pm.
The driver of the vehicle, aged in his 20s, was taken to hospital with minor injuries. He has been arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving and causing serious injury by dangerous driving and has been released on police bail while enquiries continue.
The road was closed while an investigation was carried out at the scene.
Officers are appealing for any witnesses who have not already spoken to them, but who may have seen the collision, or have relevant dashcam footage, to come forward. Please contact police by calling 101 quoting log 839 of 26 April.
