Man taken to hospital after falling down hole

Emergency services were called to a derelict hotel on Babbacombe Road, Torquay early this morning to reports of a man that had fallen down a hole.

One fire appliance from Torquay and another from Paignton were mobilised to the incident. A specialist rescue team from Clyst St George also attended.

Crews requested the aerial platform from Torquay to be mobilised to assist in removing the casualty.

The man was rescued and taken to hospital by Ambulance.
