McDonald’s franchisee sponsors local youth football clubs

McDonald’s franchisee, Gregg Fox, who runs and operates nine restaurants across the Southwest region, has sponsored three youth teams including Galmpton Under 8s, Galmpton Under 10s and Newton Fire Under 12s. The sponsorship will help support the non-league youth team by funding new kits for the year ahead.

Gregg Fox donated new footballs, training bibs and cones to the three teams, helping to set them up for a successful season. The kits were gifted to the selected teams at McDonald’s Fun Football Festival held over 3rd June to 4th June at Devon Airshow Paignton, a free family event offering free coaching sessions and experiences for kids.

Local McDonald’s franchisee Gregg Fox says: “Youth football is really important for our community which is why we support local teams through each restaurant, and I’m delighted to help support Galmpton Under 8s and Under 10s, and Newton Fire Under 12s, by providing the new kits and training equipment. McDonald’s are committed to providing a safe and fun environment for children to play football and I look forward to seeing the teams enjoy playing their upcoming fixtures.”

The sponsorship goes beyond equipment donation too, as Gregg has kindly donated old restaurant furnishings to help to kit out the team’s clubhouse.

McDonald’s is the longest-standing supporter of grassroots football in the UK and has worked with the Home Nation Football Associations for 20 years. Now in its 20th year, McDonald’s, alongside the Irish FA, Scottish FA, and Football Association of Wales, makes its biggest commitment to grassroots football by doubling the size of the new Fun Football programme.

McDonald’s Fun Football sessions will take place across the entire UK with the next wave starting in June. To find a Fun Football session local to you visit www.mcdonalds.co.uk/football.
