Mark & Goya Shepherd are the Middle Aged Adventurers, a husband and wife team from Newton Abbot and this summer they are taking part in the Mongol Rally, raising funds for Children’s Hospice South West and Cool Earth.
The Mongol Rally has been running since 2004 and is the greatest motoring adventure on the planet. A 10,000 mile road trip across mountain and deserts on roads ranging from bad to non-existent. There’s no backup. There’s no set route. It’s just them, and their tiny 15year old 1.0L Toyota Yaris and a planet earth sized bucket of adventure.
The route will take them through 21 countries, many of which end with ‘stan’, through Mongolia and finishing in Ulaan-Ude, Russia about 50 days later.
Their target is to raise £5000 for local charity Children’s Hospice South West and Cool Earth a global organisation safeguarding the rainforests.
During the preparations and throughout the rally the team will be providing regular updates via Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, YouTube and https://www.middleagedadventurers.com
Several local businesses have already agreed to provide sponsorship and will feature in the regular social media updates.
But Mark & Goya want to smash their target and are looking for more businesses to sponsor them, in return for social media marketing opportunities and exposure on local TV and press.
