A Devon diver who went missing last week has been named by police.
Peter Dahle, 56, from Plymouth, was reported missing on Saturday 3rd August.
A major search by The RNLI Plymouth lifeboats, Salcombe lifeboat and HM Coastguard search and rescue helicopter and police was unfortunately unsuccessful.
Police officers are supporting the family during this difficult time.
The wife of missing diver, Lindsey Dahle, said: “Sadly, I can confirm the extensive search for a diver missing off the South Devon Coast last weekend was for Pete.
“At this tragic time, my main concern is for the welfare and emotional well-being of our family.
“Within the next few weeks, we will work out how we wish to remember and celebrate Pete’s life for all those who loved and cherished him, and I know there is many.
“I would like to thank everyone for their condolences, support and understanding at this extremely heart-breaking time.”
