Murder enquiry launched after man found dead in Teignmouth

Appeal for witnesses following assault in Kingsbridge

Police have launched a murder enquiry after a man was found dead in Teignmouth yesterday, Sunday 3rd June.

Emergency services were called to Barnpark Terrace yesterday morning at around 7.50am and discovered the body of the man deceased at the scene. Police say that the presentation of the scene was such that the man’s death was regarded as suspicious. There is currently a cordon in place and police remain at the scene

Formal identification has not yet been carried out and next of kin are being sought.

A 52-year-old man and a 51-year-old man, both from Teignmouth, have been arrested on suspicion of murder and are currently in police custody.

Detectives from the Major Crime Investigation Team launched an investigation to establish the circumstances of the man’s death.

Anyone who can assist with the investigation is asked to contact police via 101@dc.police.uk or by phone on 101, quoting log number 267 04/06/18.
