A murder investigation has been launched following a hit and run in Dartmouth in the early hours of this morning, 27th September.

A pedestrian was left with fatal injuries following the incident on the A379 College Way between Coronation Park and Townstal Road in Dartmouth.

Emergency services were called just before 12.40am this morning.

MPC Gary Williamson said: “The pedestrian, a 27-year-old man, received injuries that proved to be fatal. His next of kin have been informed.

“At this time we are treating this as a murder enquiry until it is established otherwise.”

Road closures were put in place both ways whilst officers from the Roads Policing Team carried out a forensic examination.
