Vaccine milestone as three quarters of adults have first dose

Two new vaccination sites have opened at pharmacies in Devon and can be booked through the National Booking Service.

Well Plympton and Well Kingsbridge pharmacies are each able to vaccinate up to 270 people a week. This means there are now seven pharmacies offering vaccinations across Devon. Pharmacy vaccination sites are also running in Exmouth, Brixham, Plymouth, Lynton and Westward Ho.

Chief officer for Devon Local Pharmaceutical Committee, Sue Taylor said: “These new vaccination sites in local pharmacies offer people the convenience of having their vaccinations even closer to home.

“Our pharmacists administer flu jabs each winter. They are used to giving people vaccinations and helping to reassure anyone who is nervous about them. We urge people to book and attend their appointments when they are eligible to help protect themselves and others from Covid-19.”

Addresses for the new vaccination sites are:

• Well Plympton,The Ridgeway, Plympton, PL7 2AW
• Well Kingsbridge, The Quay, Kingsbridge, TQ7 1EB

Appointment slots are regularly released and can be booked on the National Booking Service website or by calling 119. People who are 30 and above or in other eligible groups can use the service.

Vaccinations can also be booked via the national booking service at Exeter’s Greendale site, Home Park in Plymouth and at Barnstaple Leisure Centre.
