Nominations are now open to recognise the hard work and dedication of health and social care staff and their voluntary sector partners in care across Torbay and South Devon.
The Staff Hero Awards, organised by Torbay and South Devon NHS Foundation Trust, celebrate the frontline and support staff who go ‘above and beyond’ in their roles to provide fabulous care or a fantastic service, and help to make a real difference to people’s lives.
The Trust is now calling on people to nominate those who have gone that extra mile for an award – whether a member of staff, a team, a Trust volunteer, or staff working with one of its voluntary sector partner organisations.
Nominations are open throughout the year, with Staff Hero breakfast celebrations held every two months to share the fantastic work that’s being undertaken by our staff and volunteers every day. The new annual awards ceremony will recognise the most outstanding Staff Hero Award winners from the past 12 months.
Whilst you can nominate at any time, in order for the person or team to be considered as part of this year’s annual awards ceremony you will need to submit the nomination by 5pm on Tuesday 2 July 2019. Nominations received after this time will be considered for the following year’s annual awards in 2020.
There are a total of nine categories within the awards including individual, team, partnership, wellbeing at work and prevention.
Liz Davenport, Chief Executive of Torbay and South Devon NHS Foundation Trust, said: “All of our staff, as well as our partners in care, work extremely hard to ensure that everyone who comes into our care receives the highest quality of service, with many going above and beyond the call of duty in their role each and every day.
“The Staff Hero Awards recognises the people who are outstanding in making a real difference in health and social care. It is also a way to share and celebrate some of the many success stories. The awards allow us to step back for a moment and truly celebrate the great work of so many staff across Torbay and South Devon.”
Sir Richard Ibbotson, Chairman of Torbay and South Devon NHS Foundation Trust, added: “Every day, those working for, or with, the Trust help and support local people, including some of the most vulnerable within our communities.
“Our Staff Hero Awards provide a wholly appropriate opportunity to say ‘thank you’ to those who have gone that extra mile. If you know of a member of staff, team or one of our volunteers or partners who you think deserves an award, I would encourage you to find out more and nominate!”
