Torbay Coast and Countryside trust, organisers of the annual Occombe Beer Festival, can now finally reveal the last set of bands and performers that complete the 2017 musical line up.
The super talented Foo Fighters tribute band; Something From Nothing have already been confirmed as Saturday’s rocking headline act whilst the fabulous Duke Johnson and the Scorchers will be closing a Friday evening jam packed full of folk, rock and blues.
Traditionally Saturday night at Occombe Beer Festival is rock, pop and dance night, so to provide some foot stomping beats and infectious melodies, that stay in your head for days, will be Exeter based N.U.M.B. – Never Underestimate Musical Belief. In their own words they are the “genre-blending masters of their time, integrating hip-hop with indie, reggae and rock”. They have an awe-inspiring ability to write song after song and have over 700 live shows under their belt. N.U.M.B. has featured on BBC Introducing, have performed for HRH Prince Harry and are about to release their 4th studio album!
Plymouth based band Joker are a high energy 4 piece indie rock covers band and are well known across the South West live music circuit. Formed in 2003, Joker has played at numerous events around the UK including many festivals such as ‘Run to the Sun’ and MTV Crashes, in 2014. Joker appeared on live television as the ‘resident band’ for BBC Children in Need in 2008 and has supported artists such as Olly Murrs, Jamie ‘Afro’ Archer, Damage, and the Military Wives Choir.
Brixham based acoustic artist Chris Thomas and the Travelling Blueberries will get the party started on Saturday afternoon. Chris promises a dynamic selection of covers from over seven decades of music whilst the Travelling Blueberries, who are a selection of top musicians that get together 6 times a year to perform, will get us swinging to the top blues and swing classics just like the original Travelling Willberries. With songs from BB King, Stevie Ray Vaughan, Elmore James, the Small Faces, Fleetwood Mac and early Rolling Stones, the Blueberries are a band not to be missed!
Completing the line-up are two more home grown acts, Harbour and 3BF. Harbour is an up and coming four piece band that play many different genres of music and features four incredibly talented musicians. They promise to perform some of the best renditions of songs both old to new. Last year Harbour was awarded Best Band/Duo act in the South West’s new entertainments awards – The Trevors!
3BF are an extremely popular band across the South West. They play acoustic covers and are regulars on the regional music scene as well as at the Beer Festival. The crowd love them which is why the Trust invited them back!
