Elderly women treated for smoke inhalation after kitchen fire

Emergency services were called to a house fire in Ogwell last night.

The fire, which was deliberate, is reported to have been started with a blow torch.

Fire crews from Newton Abbot and Torquay attended the incident.

People in the area said that there were police, dog handlers and a helicopter present.

Neighbours of the property in Berkshire Close, were evacuated at around 11pm but later allowed to return.

A man who fled the property was later found by police. He was taken to hospital after being found nearby at a quarry with severe injuries.
