There is just one week left to give Torbay Council your views on proposed changes to the Council Tax Support Scheme.
The consultation, which launched on 2 October, closes at midnight on Monday 20 November, and in addition to both online and paper surveys, there are a number of drop-in events at local libraries this week if you wanted to speak to someone from the Council Tax team.
As well as 3,000 letters and paper surveys being sent to people who are in receipt of Council Tax Support, a further 3,000 letters and surveys have been sent to a random sample of residents in Torbay (both working and retired age) who do not receive Council Tax Support. For those who have received these, please fill out the surveys and return them in the enclosed stamp addressed envelopes. There is also a QR Code on the front of the surveys for those who would prefer to do the survey online – just scan the QR code with your phone and do that if you prefer.
Councillor Alan Tyerman, Cabinet Member for Housing, Finance and Corporate Services, said: “It’s really important that as many people in Torbay have their say on these proposed changes to Council Tax Support.
“Our aim is to improve the application process for the customer, make the scheme easier to manage, reduce the time taken from completing the application to receiving a Council Tax bill, and reduce the number of reassessments of awards.”
