Police appeal for witnesses to serious Paignton collision

Police have appealed for witnesses to a collision in Paignton on Saturday (30th July)

A 68 year old female pedestrian was seriously injured a the collision with a Fiat Doblo as she attempted to cross Yalberton Road.

The woman, from Paignton was airlifted to Derriford hospital where she remains in a stable condition.

The car driver, a 76-year-old Paignton woman, was not injured in the collision which took place at the junction with Brixham Road.

The road was closed for six-hours while officers from the Serious Collisions Investigation Unit carried out a forensic examination of the scene.

Police are appealing for witnesses to the collision and would also like to hear from anyone who saw the Fiat travelling on Yalberton Road towards Paignton Zoo prior to the incident.
