We’d love for people to pop in see us and find out more about how you and we can support the health and wellbeing of you and your family and enjoy themselves
“We welcome the public to come and meet some of our volunteers and find out what support the League of Friends provides in the centre and community medical services.”
Phillipa Hawkins, clinical lead at the centre, said: “It is the first time that we have been able to open our doors to the community in this way and really celebrate and showcase what services are available at our centre but also the wealth of information, support and advice that is available in the local community to help people stay well and receive the right care and support at the right time in their lives.
“Some of the community staff who run the clinics at our centre will be available and we have so many of the local organisations who support the health and wellbeing of local people on hand during that day for people to find out more about including the wellbeing coordinators, community builders, technology enabled care demos and we also have a brilliant machine that enables people to perform their own health checks including taking your own blood pressure, for instance.
“There are fun elements as well as information, advice and support, and taster sessions on a wide range of health and wellbeing related topics and services.”
