Person dies after being hit by a train

Trains are currently delayed between Totnes and Truro after a person was hit by a train.

Emergency services were called to the incident in Plymouth earlier this afternoon.

Unfortunately the person was pronounced deceased at the scene.

The incident is not being treated as suspicious.

An update on National Rail states: “As all lines are currently closed, trains may be cancelled, delayed by up to 60 minutes or diverted until approximately 18:00.”
