RNLI and Coastguard crews have joined police in a major search for a missing person in Torquay.
The search, carried out earlier this evening, Sunday, 6th January, centred around the Babbacombe/Oddicombe area of Torquay.
Torbay Coastguard posted on their Facebook page: “On arriving our OIC (Officer In Charge) requested for Teignmouth coastguard to be paged to add more numbers due to the large area we needed to cover. We also requested assistance from Teignmouth Lifeboat and RNLITorbay to carry out a shoreline search and a search of the areas Rescue Officers would not be able to access on foot.

“With further police information coming in and our Search areas all completed, our search was scaled down and the police are following up other information.”
The police helicopter was also seen searching along the coastline.
Justin Johns, 44 has been missing since 4th January and police have appealed for information on his where abouts but it has not yet been confirmed if the search is in relation to him.
