Police appeal after woman and baby hurt in street robbery

Drugs to be trashed at Torquay pubs and clubs

Police have appealed for witnesses after a grandmother and her grandson were left with minor injuries following a street robbery on Tuesday, 23rd February.

A 72 year old woman was pushing her one year old grandson in a pram when her handbag was snatched, causing her and the pram to fall to the floor.

The incident took place at the junction of Skerries Road and Alderney Road, Southway, Plymouth, at around midday.

The offender made off on foot with the handbag in Clittaford Road towards Dunnet Road, the bag was later discovered in Southway Lane. Police are particularly interested in speaking to anyone who was in this area at this time.

A 20-year old man has been arrested in connection with this incident and has been released on bail until the 16th of March, pending further enquiries.
