Police appeal for information after man goes missing from hospital

Update: The man was located safe and well around 6.45pm last night (17 June) in Bittaford near Ivybridge.

He was arrested on suspicion of escaping from lawful custody and taken to Torquay police station, where he remains.

Police are appealing to the public to help trace a Dawlish man who has escaped from lawful custody while at Torbay Hospital.

Officers are concerned for the welfare of Alex Myhill who left the hospital around 8.20pm last night (16 June).

Mr Myhill, 23, was yesterday arrested on suspicion of shoplifting in Dawlish but later taken to hospital after he became unwell.

Police are now concerned for the health of Mr Myhill and are conducting extensive searches to locate him.

They are appealing for the public to look out for him and to report any sightings to them.

He is described as between 5ft 9ins and 5ft 11ins tall, of medium build with medium length brown hair.
