Police appeal for information following assault at music event

Police have appealed for information following an assault at ‘MTV Crashes’ in Plymouth last week.

The incident happened at the second day of the event (Thursday 23 July) on Plymouth Hoe between 9pm and 9,15pm.

A teenage girl approached a 17-year-old Plymouth girl who was with her friends and began throwing punches at the group.

The group backed away but offender pulled the 17-year-old to the floor where she was repeatedly kicked. She sustained extensive bruising to her body.

Three other teenage girls from Plymouth were also assaulted by the offender and received minor injuries.

Police are appealing for witnesses to the incident which happened just to the right of the middle of the crowd [facing the stage].

A police spokesman said: “This incident happened within open view of hundreds of people at a busy event. We would like to speak to anyone who saw what happened and would encourage them to come forward and contact us.”
