Police are appealing for witnesses following an assualt in Paignton on Tuesday (29th September)
The unprovoked attack took place outside of the Co-Operative store on Palace Avenue, Paignton at around 8.45pm
A 59-year-old man was using the ATM machine outside the Co-Operative when a man who was in company with a boy and has a verbal altercation. The victim is then punched by the man who then flees the scene toward the area of the Palace Theatre.
The man is described as being around 6”1 tall, white man wearing a dark t-shirt and of stocky build. The boy who was with him is believed to be around 12-years old and was wearing a red long sleeve top.
The victim sustained injuries to his face and head and had to go to hospital for treatment
There were a number of people in the area at the time and police believe that a number of people witnessed this unprovoked attack. Police would also like to speak to two men who came to the victim’s aid following the attack.
