Police appeal for witnesses following serious assault in Torquay

Police have  appealed following a serious assault in Torquay.

The incident happened in Lower Ellacombe Road on Saturday, 12th August.

A 21-year-old man from Torquay was assaulted by two men, both carrying weapons, in an unprovoked attack between 6.30pm-7.30pm. The victim sustained a bleeding wound to his head; he had to go to hospital for treatment.

It is believed that his attackers were both wearing hooded tops or jackets; one was carrying a metal pole, the other a baseball bat.

Police would like to hear from anyone who has any information that can help detectives with their investigation. 

Police would also like to hear from anyone who was in the area during this time, and who may have seen a group of men fleeing the area.
