Police have appealed for witnesses following a collision near Ashburton last week.
One woman was left seriously injured following the single vehicle collision involving a Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution V on Wednesday 6th March.
The Mitsubishi, containing a family of three collided with a hedge on the road between Spitchwick Common and Ashburton. Emergency services were called to the scene at 11.55pm.
The back seat passenger, a woman in her 40s, sustained a serious head injury and was airlifted to Derriford Hospital by air ambulance. She remains in hospital in a critical condition.
Two men in the vehicle, one aged 20 and the other in his 40s, suffered minor injuries and were also taken to Derriford Hospital by ambulance.
The road was closed for five-and-a-half hours while officers carried out an examination of the scene and the vehicle was recovered.
Officers from the Alliance Roads Policing Team are investigating the collision and would like to hear from anyone who witnessed the incident.
