Police appeal for witnesses of fatal A38 collision

Police have appealed for witnesses following a fatal collision involving a pedestrian and a HGV this morning (20th May)

The collision happened around 11am on the Northbound carriageway of the A38 in South Brent.

Police, the fire service, ambulance crews and the air ambulance attended the scene.

The male predestrian  was pronounced deceased at the scene.

Investigations are ongoing to confirm his identity and trace his next of kin.

The carriageway was closed for most of the day, reopening at 6pm.

Anyone who witnessed the collision or saw the man on the A38 prior to the incident is asked to contact police by email via101@dc.police.uk or by telephone on 101, quoting log 290 of 20/05/16.
