Police are appealing for witnesses after a cyclist was found with serious head injuries on Dartmoor yesterday.
A 68 years old man from Essex was found unconscious at 4.50pm, having sustained a serious head injury. He was found between Postbridge and Moretonhampstead (B3212) He appears to have been cycling alone.
He was airlifted to Derriford Hospital, where he remains on a serious condition.
The road was closed for three-and-a-half hours for collision investigators to examine the scene and police are now trying to establish how he became injured.
Officers are appealing for witnesses to the incident and they are also keen to hear from anyone who may have seen him cycling in the area at the time.
The man is described as white, and was wearing an orange coat, black cycling shorts and a red and white cycle helmet. He was riding a white Dawes road bike.
