Police appeal for information after dog seriously burned in horrendous attack

Police have appealed for information after a dog was seriously burned whilst in out in the garden.

The incident happened last month on Saturday 20th October in Downs Road, Thurlestone.

The dogs elderly owner found the dog with serious burns after she her the dog crying in pain.

Kingsbridge Police said on Facebook:
“The following post is very upsetting and the picture is truly shocking so please think before viewing.

“We are investigating an incident which happened at Downs Road, Thurlestone where a dog was severely injured.

“On the afternoon of Saturday 20th October, the 81 year old owner of ‘Scally-Wag’, a 4 year old Collie heard her dog crying in pain in her back garden. She investigated and found that (what we believe to be) boiling water had been poured over her dog.

“The dog was rushed to Selworthy Vets where it received urgent treatment. The dog received serious burns to both flanks, and splash burns to its back.

“We are appealing to any witnesses to this horrendous crime to contact us. The RSPCA have been informed and are also investigating the incident.
