Police appeal for information after man found in city harbour

Police in Plymouth are investigating the circumstances surrounding a man’s death after he was found in water on the Barbican yesterday.

Emergency services where called to Sutton Harbour Marina at around 6.15am following a report of a body floating in the water.

The man, a 21 year old from Macclesfield was treated by paramedics at the scene and taken by ambulance to Derriford Hospital, where he was sadly pronounced dead.

Formal identification has not yet taken place but his family have been informed.

Anyone who may have information about this incident is asked to call police on 101 quoting reference 168 of 18 January.
