Police appeal for witnesses following park assault

Police have appealed for witnesses of an assault in Courtenay Park, Newton Abbot at the weekend.

The incident happened at approximately 8.30pm on Saturday 4th June near the entrance to the park.

Two men assaulted and stole alcohol from the 29 year old victim who sustained facial injuries during the attack.

A 19-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of robbery and has since been bailed until the 4th of July pending further enquiries.

Police would like to speak to any person who may have been in the park or witnessed the incident.

Anyone with information that could assist with the investigation is asked to contact police on 101 or email101@devonandcornwall.pnn.police.uk, quoting crime reference CR/036875/16.
