Investigation launched after suspicious death in Torquay

Police have appealed for witnesses following an unexplained death in Torquay on Tuesday, 11th December.

Emergency services were called to reports of concern for welfare of a woman on Temperance Street in Torquay at around 10.30pm

The 45-year-old woman, from Torquay, was treated by paramedics and later confirmed deceased at the scene.

The woman’s next of kin have now been informed.

A 47-year-old man from Torquay, was arrested on suspicion of murder, taken into police custody and was later released under investigation pending further enquires.

The investigation continues and the death is being treated as unexplained.

Anyone with information relating to the incident is asked to contact police on 101 quoting CR/114501/18.
