Police have appealed for witnesses after a security guard was attacked and a cash box stolen in Torquay yesterday, Wednesday, 22nd November.
The incident happened in the St Marychurch area outside of the Sainsbury’s local store at around 1.45pm.
The 33-year-old victim was hit with what is believed to have been a hammer. The two suspects then wrestled the cash box from the victim and fled the scene in a waiting silver Vauxhall estate driven by another man.
The car left the scene at speed, travelling down St Marychurch Road in the direction of Westhill Road.
The victim has been released from hospital with minor injuries.
Police are keen to trace witnesses to the incident and anyone who saw the vehicle before, during or after the robbery.
