Police dog catches suspect after elderly woman injured

A police dog led police to a suspect after an elderly woman was injured in Exeter on Wednesday, 1st March.

Police were called to Tesco Metro on the high street after an 80 year old woman was allegedly pushed over by a man as he fled the store.

The woman sustained a fractured leg as a result of the incident and was taken to Royal Devon and Exeter hospital. The victim is expected to make a full recovery.

The Police Dog Unit were called to assist and Police Dog Sally led officers to the suspect.

Jakob Kolter, 22, from Exeter has been charged with theft from a shop and GBH and is due to appear before Exeter Magistrates on Tuesday 4 April 2017.
