As a result of the incident, a woman sustained a broken elbow, and a man sustained a broken nose and required dental reconstruction.

Investigating Officer DC Tim Platt said: “There were a lot of people at the scene of the incident and we are appealing for them to come forward to help with our enquiries.

“As you can see from the CCTV footage, this was a disgusting attack, and we want to bring the offenders to justice. There would have been more victims to the assault who have yet to come forward so we would urge them to make contact.

“We are also asking members of the public who may have been in the area at that time to come forward.”

A 22-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of ABH and released under investigation pending further enquiries.

Anyone with information about this incident is asked to contact police pm 101 or email: 101@dc.police.uk quoting CR/038741/17
