Update: Dartmoor Search and Rescue Team (Ashburton) have confirmed they have been stood down as the lady has been found.
Police in Torquay are concerned for the welfare of a 79-year-old woman called Phyllis Jenkins who answers to the name of Pat. It is understood Phyllis suffers from dementia.
Phyllis is described as white, around 5ft 7ins tall and was wearing a white floppy hat, a pink flowery top and bright pink trousers.
Phyllis was last seen around 10.30am on Wednesday 5 July and given today is a particularly warm day, police are keen to locate her as quickly as possible. Police have been told Phyllis is able to walk quite far.
A number of police units are actively out searching the Torquay area, particularly in the Babbacombe area and further afield, including coast paths and green areas.
